Holistic Hatha Yoga & Relaxation

Holistic classes that bring balance, calm and help regulate sleeping patterns.  As well as helping to improve flexibility, posture and all over body strength.

 

The classes also help to support existing injuries such as lower back pain and leave you with a lasting sense of wellbeing and calm.

 

Everyone from teenagers to adults of all ages and abilities are welcome at these classes.

The Hatha yoga I teach is influenced by lots of different styles but largely comes from Viniyoga.  It takes a holistic, therapeutic approach to teach yoga that is designed to improve your health and well-being.  You can think of this type of yoga as yoga physical therapy or as having a personalised practice as it is adapted to your unique conditions, needs and interests.

Your Classes

Adult Hatha Yoga

I studied for nearly four years with the British Wheel of Yoga under which we have to complete continuing professional development each year to maintain our qualifications.

​

Yoga is a personal, non-competitive practice that is available to everyone.  Every pose has different variations and modifications meaning that everyone can enjoy the benefits of yoga.

 

The classes encompass all aspects of yoga.  Meditation, mindfulness, breathing and relaxation techniques are woven into the posture work that we do so that you get a truly holistic workout.  The classes end with a deep, guided relaxation.

School Children Yoga

Travelling as far as the imagination can see traditional yoga postures, breathing, mindfulness exercises and relaxation techniques are woven into interactive adventures where children meet mystical dragons, fly on gigantic multi-coloured birds and surf down rainbows! 

 

Children also get the chance to create their own vinyasas and relaxations, act out and make up their own stories and take part in fun yoga games.The classes end with relaxation and lavender eye pillows.

 

There is a growing body of research into the benefits of yoga for children.  Some of these benefits include:

Release of day to day anxieties; Improved self-esteem, confidence & sleep patterns; Develop healthy posture; Strengthens muscles and helps counter the pressures of a "hurry up" world.
